Ice Cream

Aiden loves ice cream cones. When we make them, he yells at us until we give it to him.

This is a picture of him after he is all-done with it.

He's awesome.

Belated Easter...

I know Easter was a month ago but a lot has been going on and I have not posted pictures until now. So here are are a few....

Isn't he so handsome!!!
Here are the kids with Grandaddy after church.

Jaycie was of course the master at the egg hunt!

Charis was pretty good too!

Here they all are hunting their eggs.

Aiden loved hunting eggs!

I guess this would be their official "Easter picture".

This was our real live Easter bunny. Phud was cutting the grass on Saturday before Easter and he saw this baby bunny. The kids loved it!!!

What's Aiden up to now...

I have my computer back!!! So now I will have pictures. About a week and a half ago I was in the living room and I heard the kitchen chair screeching across the kitchen floor. I looked around and was Jaycie in the living room with me and so was Charis. Then it hit me that Aiden was moving the chair. He sees his sisters do it all the time when they are helping me cook. When I got to the kitchen, I saw that Aiden had pushed the chair all the way across the kitchen and had climbed in it and was trying to find something to get in to! I couldn't believe it! So now I cannot keep him out of the chairs! I also cannot keep him off of the counters and the table! I found him yesterday at the table lapping up Charis's bowl of pancake syrup that I forgot to clear off. He also drank her glass of milk! And no, he is not lacking in being fed! He is the first to get to the table and the last to leave...and he eats the entire time!!!

Black eyes and self haircuts!

Yesterday, from out of nowhere Jaycie turned up with a black eye.  I assumed that Charis gave it to her while they were outside playing in the backyard.  (Sadly, this would not be too surprising.)  After thinking about it for a while I realized where it came from.

The night before she was asked to go and brush her teeth before bed.  She was being silly and ran into my room, slamming the door shut behind her and there were no lights on and in the dark she ran full speed into my bathroom door jam.  It was an extremely hard impact.  It was only red that night but the black part appeared the next morning.  And today it is very big and purple!

Now about the self haircut.  Charis was cutting out something at the table while I was cooking dinner tonight.  I heard her say, "I'm going to cut my hair".  I quickly told her that we do not cut anything except paper that mommy gives her to cut.  And she replied, "Well why can mommy cut my hair?"  And I am sure you know my answer!

Well either I was too late or she just didn't care what I said (the later is probably the case), but I found several little patches of hair on the floor by the table when she went to the bathroom.   Then I found more hair in the bathroom all over the toilet!!!  She did a good job though because it doesn't look bad at all!  I guess she got her Grandma Chambers haircutting talent. :-)

Reading is not always desirable!!

So tonight was a crazy night!  Jaycie started screaming when she went to potty before bath time.  Every time we tried to get her to potty, she would scream REALLY loud.  Phud ended up taking her to the urgent care (10 min. before they closed!) and sure enough she had an infection.  Anyway, after they got her medicine and got home it was 9pm (her bed time is at 7pm).

She was in bed by 9:30 and when I was tucking her in she proceeded to tell me that her fan (which is an air purifier that we use as a noise maker) said that it was to always have a filter on it or the dust mites will fly back into the air.  She told me that she read that on the back.  And in fact it does say that...well it just says dust but because of her awful dust might allergy all dust equals dust mites to her.  Also she told me it says that it could cause a fire if it is not used properly.  And again she was correct!

Well, an hour and 10 min. later I heard water running upstairs.  It was about 10:35pm and when Phud got up there, he saw baking soda everywhere!  I had a huge bag a baking soda in my bathroom because we use it so much to sooth diaper rashes and irritations during bath time.  Well she got out of bed and read the whole back of the baking soda bag and started following directions!

Here is what she read:
Use in bathroom: Will safely remove tough soil, lift off dirt and soap scum.
Sinks, counters, tubs, showers, toilets, tile and more.

Well, Jaycie fully followed the directions!!!  She was in our shower scrubbing it with baking soda with her bare hands!!  Gross!!

As Phud looked around he saw that everything else had already been cleaned because they were covered with baking soda...the toilet, sinks, counters, tub, and more!  Phud asked her what in the world she was doing and she said, "Baking soda cleans everything Daddy!"  Then she launched into an explanation of everything the bag said it cleaned.  What a mess she is.

She reads so fluently but we were not ready for her ability to read EVERYTHING!  We like it when she can help us memorize verses by reading along while we recite the verse and correcting us when we are wrong.    But when it comes to reading directions on cleaning products and following all of them literally, well that has proven to be a little less desirable.

Lastly, when Phud took her to bed, she said, "Daddy, baking soda doesn't taste very good."

Newspaper

Phud got a random call yesterday from a Rock Hill newspaper reporter.  He wanted to talk to him about Remedy and his new role as pastor.  So this morning we found out that Phud was on the front page of today's Rock Hill Herald.  Too funny!  So here is the article if you want to read it...

Bubble Gum

I am very sad to say that I have no pictures right now.  Our computer died and is at the HP repair center getting fixed.  So now all I can do is write stories.  This pains me so much that I wasn't going to post until the computer came back because I like pictures (let's face it, people want to see pictures, not just read long stories), but Phud suggested that I post a story.  So I thought I would show him how much I love him by  joyfully taking his suggestion.  So, now on to our bubble gum story...
Charis has a new found passion for bubble gum.  We broke down at Easter and put bubble gum in some of the eggs that we hid.  Well, little did we know that it was going to create a monster!  Charis will chew the same piece of gum ALL day long!  Even if it loses its flavor after 5 minutes.  She found our stash in our closet last week.  So after nap one day we heard little steps in our room upstairs.  I knew it was Charis!  Sure enough, down the stairs she came with her mouth full of a fresh piece of bubble gum.  To make a long story short, that night she did the same thing at bedtime.  I made her spit the gum out and about an hour later I thought I heard something again in my room upstairs.  We didn't go check until about 30 min. later.  Then when we went up to go to bed, Phud went in to check Charis and thought maybe he should check her mouth just in case and sure enough....there was a wad of gum in her mouth while she was sleeping!!!!!
So we finally used our brain and moved the stash up high.  The next morning I caught Charis in our room frantically looking around.  I asked her what was wrong (knowing exactly what was wrong) and she threw her hands up and exclaimed, "I can't find my gum anywhere and I don't know what to do."  It was so funny.  She was truly flustered!
