Charis's Birthday Month!

Charis turned 3 on February 13th and once again we had to postpone her party a week. Last year it was because Aiden was in the hospital with RSV and this year it was because we were all VERY sick with a virus. So on her birthday this year she had 103 fever and got to eat lots of Popsicle's. So we had the party on the 21st and she of course was cool with that. She was so excited and had so much fun. So on the last day of the month I am finally getting around to posting the pictures!! So here are a few pictures from the party.

This was taken on her actual birthday (Friday the 13th!) I managed to peel my sick self out of bed and whip up a box of cupcakes!! I was determined that she was going to have cake on her birthday. She was so sick but so VERY excited about it.

She is getting ready to blow out her candle on her special personal cake. (I always make them their own personal cake so when they blow their candle out their spit and bad breath is not on the cake that everyone else eats... Isn't that gross to think about!)

Notice the paper crown with the number 3 on it. She wore it for a while but decided that she didn't want to wear it during the cake time. Also, my mom made her the cutest happy birthday shirt and she refused to wear it. We tried FOREVER to get her to wear it but we were very unsuccessful!!

Here is her castle cake that she insisted on as well. I had planned to do a really nice castle cake for Jaycie's upcoming party (which I still and going to do) and I was going to do a Dora cake again for Charis and at 8PM the night before Charis's party she told me that she wanted a castle cake too. Ugh!!!! So I made a castle cake that night. It of course was thrown together really fast but I got it done. She was very excited about it!

Fun Food!

Well, if you know me well, then you know that I truly struggle in the creativity department. I really want to be that fun mom who makes everything really fun and makes fun creative crafts and foods. I am not ashamed to say that Family Fun helps me a little with that. This day however, I actually came up with this fun lunch all by myself! I found these awesome hotdogs that are msg free and nitrate free so we rolled them up in crescent rolls and baked them. We called them piggies in a blanket... Then I made a face out of all of the food. The nose for the face was the pig in the blanket. The ketchup was the mouth and apple wedges were the eyes and of course broccoli was the man's hair. The girls LOVED it!! It was so fun to watch how excited they were. I felt like a super cool, creative mom for a few minutes. We did it again today (yeah, it was hard enough for me to come up with that much!!!) and we used olives for the eyes and celery for the hair. So I scored big once again!!

Jumpy Thing

We pulled out the Jumping Castle (we call it the jumpy thing) a few weeks ago to introduced it to Aiden. He wasn't too sure of it at first, but when I poured the balls in it he was all about it! Needless to say, he loved it. My favorite was that they all had crazy static hair!

This picture makes me laugh! Aiden just got knocked over by Charis and his face was priceless. He just got up and continued playing. He is such a tough little man.

Bath Time

Aiden finally has a boy bathtub toy!! (Thank you Aunt Dean and Uncle Max!!!) He loves it (as do the girls). If you notice in the background that pink thing is a Barbie toilet that for some reason made its way into the bath tub and there is a swimming Dora doll and a pink Frisbee... But now he has a manly basketball toy!! He loves it. I like to fill the balls up with water and squirt the kids. Aiden tries to squirt too, but it is a little to hard. He usually just bites it and laughs when the water comes out. It's so much fun! (Oh yeah, just in case you were wondering, those little dark things on the left are my old California Raisins that I got when I was a kid. So I guess they could technically be boy or girl toys...)
